Kitty jumped up on my desk while I was at the computer
working on my blog this morning.
Kitty loves the sun and will find it any way she can.
I love this analogy. Cats seek light and warmth.
If you follow your cat around your house during the day,
they will let you know where the best sunlit rooms and spots are.
Sunlight is vital for our well-being and many
inspired designers craft spaces that follow its radiant path.
I have embraced this idea in my own home.
My work desk is by a window where the rays of the rising sun enter the room,
and our dinner table is in a room where the sun setting enters the house.
But I don’t need to construct clever ways to find light in my life;
there is something infinitely greater with power and effect.
This is the spiritual light that comes from Jesus Christ.
It can obscure our understanding of what once seemed clear and simple.
In these moments, it’s easy to feel lost and make choices we might regret,
because the dangers ahead are harder to recognize.
It's natural to feel a sense of hopelessness when we're surrounded
by darkness, especially when we can't physically see the peace
and joy that will be waiting for us if we embrace Christ and His light.
Light guides us to know know truth from error
and what is vital from what is trivial.
In the light, we make better choices that are enduring and grounded.
When we step away from the shadows of the world and
into Christ and His light, we will truly find happiness and clarity.
I am so thankful for the Christmas season to celebrate His LIGHT!
