Sewing To Start August

This afternoon, I unearthed the trusty sewing machine, 

and Lottie and I spent the day upstairs, stitching and crafting together.

She found a frog pattern and decided to turn it into a heating pad 

(you know, for these super chilly Carolina August nights).

We didn't have any rice to add to Darwin's (her frog) body

 after cutting him out, and that was super disappointing, 

and she didn't want to wait

for us to get in the car and drive to the store.

So, instead, she filled it with our food storage supply

of wheat.  Good thing we were prepared!

 I started a few projects, too.
I'm embroidering some napkins and Lottie's
shorts, shirts, and socks.

I forgot how much I love embroidery!
I love these lazy summer days and am enjoying them
as much as I possibly can!

Then, to my delight, there was a knock at the door, 

and a flower delivery service brought me a bouquet vase filled 

with beautiful flowers in Carolina blue.

Because of this.

Yay, that!
