Domestic Sidekick

A few weeks ago, Jane and I went to the dump,
as one does out here in the county to drop off our garbage.
At the dump, there is a little area
where people donate things; it's kind of a free-for-all area.

I always check it out since I've been known to find a few treasures.
Well, today, I definitely found some treasures!!
1. Children's rocking chair in beautiful shape.
(I wish the owner could know that it's safe and loved at my
house because I'm sure it has some stories to tell).
2. A couple really great baskets (for egg collecting and the like).
3. And a really awesome wooden mirror.
Over the last few days, I've been working on the mirror,
sanding and repairing it with wood glue and clamps
with Gigs by my side.
Then, I went to the paint store and picked out a
beautiful dark blue color called Naval.
I gave it a few coats of paint and, to finish off
added a beautiful Grecian bust on the top.
This morning, Lottie put the last coat of paint on her,
then I hung her up over my fireplace.
After, Lottie was excited to organize and color-code my refrigerator,
making it much more efficient and visually appealing.
As a finishing touch to our day, we embroidered a little dog on the
 pockets of her shorts.
They turned out really cute.

I say, in all, it was a very productive day.
Thanks, Lod, for being my domestic sidekick!
