July 24th is a special day.
Pioneer Day is a significant holiday in Utah,
and regardless of where we've lived, we've always
celebrated this day.
Tonight, we welcomed the missionaries and a newly baptized
family to our home for pizza.
They are the pioneers moving forward in a new faith.
And we are right there with them.
We're all pioneers in one way or another, and we should all be proud.
I am incredibly grateful to my pioneer heritage who came before me,
they were resilient, strong, and loyal.
I'm so excited to meet everyone one glorious day
and am particularly excited to meet the courageous women,
to hear their stories of strength, and to feel their faith.
One day!!!!
I saw a photo today of Christian in Africa with the
first Care for Life volunteers 24 years ago.
This was the summer we met, and
I was in love with him when he left, but he didn't know it.
I mean, he knew I liked him, but he didn't know that I was
head over heels.
He eventually came home and fell head over heels for me, too.
And we got married 4 months later.
