Today my beautiful Claire turns TWENTY YEARS OLD!
I'm dead.
I can't believe it!
She will celebrate her big 2-0 in Brazil as a missionary,
and what a cool thing to do!
I wanted to do something special for her, so I
contacted one of her companion's moms, who is a native Brazillian, and
I asked her to help me get flowers sent to her apartment and dinner
for her and her two other companions.
Jane and I secretly contacted her companions, and together they helped
coordinate everything up so they'd be home when the flowers and
dinner was delivered.
We also filmed our family singing happy birthday to her while we
sat down for dinner, and then
we went around the table, and each said why we love (and miss!)
our Claire bear. This is a tradition we do for everyone on their birthdays.
We sent the video to her companions, who played the video of us singing
(it makes me cry typing this) while they woke her up on her birthday
with pancakes and a candle.
(They filmed the whole thing; thankfully, we got to see it on her P-Day).
She had a memorable day.
She is the most beautiful thing ever, and I am so proud of her.
She will look back on these days as some of her life's most
exhausting and gratifying days.
She works hard, studies, and serves hard, and she loves the
people of Brazil and the Lord with all her heart, mind, and strength.
I love who she is and who she is becoming every day.
Happy Birthday, Toad!
