In our Home Church yesterday
I shared one of my favorite Christmas hymns,
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing with our family
I specifically love these words:
Light and life to all he brings,
Ris’n with healing in his wings.
I could barely get through my testimony as tears rolled down my cheeks,
and I told my Nies how grateful I
am for our Savior, who is the light of our lives,
and of our choices, and our destiny.
And I especially love the imagery of healing in his wings!
I would have never imagined my little simple life turned upside down
in the Summer of 2008, but our Savior
can make our challenges into glorious blessings
if we allow Him to fix our broken hearts and lives.
Just as the majestic Phoenix and the incredible symbolism of that bird,
we can change into new improved people than we ever were before.
Through Christ, we are able to obtain a new life by arising from the ashes,
figurately and literally, through healing in HIS WINGS!
After Home Church, we went to a friend's home who had unexpectedly
suffered a major health issue.
We, along with friends, brought food, treats,
and Christmas wrapping supplies to her family.
Her husband and daughter were outside to greet us and
before we left, we circled together near the horse barn and prayed
for her healing and swift recovery.
Again I thought about healing in His wings.
It's real, and I believe in miracles. I've seen them in my life,
and she will too.
We finished our wonderful Sabbath evening by
watching the Christmas devotional.
It was inspiring and beautiful in every way!
After I served HYGGE-PUDDING!
The first of the year and one of many we'll enjoy this winter season!
