What does it mean to take the name of Jesus Christ upon us?
How do we comfort those who are suffering?
What is Heavenly Father's plan for us?
How do we love without judgment?
We discussed these topics in the Nielson family home church on Sunday.
We discussed why people are ashamed to take upon him/herself
the name of Jesus Christ and how we can be bold in
sharing our testimonies with everyone.
All those answers are given in Mormon chapters 7-9 in The Book of Mormon,
which we had already read throughout the week.
Then we focused on missionary work and sharing the gospel.
We are all committed to opening our mouths and sharing the good news
of Christ with everyone we meet and converse with.
That means friends at school,
our Zoom meetings, the grocery store, and work.
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature"!!
We loved Elder Hollands' quote:
"Except in the case of His only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are
all God has ever had to work with. …
When you see imperfection, remember that the limitation is
not in the divinity of the work"
In the evening, Christian prepared his traditional
'Mr. Nielson's Sunday dinner includes vinegar beets,
garlic mashed potatoes, maple carrots, green salad, and rolls.
Then he and I went into the office to attend our
2-hour Church zooms with other members of our area congregation.
We discuss good practices for money management and job skills.
It's a 13-week commitment, and we're learning so much.
When it's over at 8:00, Clane has cleaned up
with a Sunday dessert in the oven.
These sweet family Sundays are numbered as we anticipate Claire's
exciting mission in January. I'm soaking up as much as I can!
