In our Home Church yesterday I told the Nies about
last weekend when Christian and I went to the parking lot of the
Raleigh temple and parked the car.
Christian and I talked about how much we missed going inside,
and how much we missed the peace and quiet of that sacred place.
I grew up singing the beautiful children's hymn
Back then as a young girl,
I really felt the anticipation of going "inside someday".
I never thought I'd ever sing that song again with
the same amount of anticipation as I did when I was young,
but I do now.
"I love to see the temple
I'm going there someday
To feel the holy spirit
To listen and to pray
For the temple is a house of God
A place of love and beauty
I'll prepare myself while I am young
This is my sacred duty
I love to see the temple
I'll go inside someday
I'll covenant with my Father
I'll promise to obey
For the temple is a holy place
Where we are sealed together
As a child of God, I've learned this truth
A family is forever."
I told the Nies about our experience and how grateful I am that
even though we aren't physically able to go to the temple we can still feel
the love of the Lord just by being in the parking lot.
