We took Lottie and Gigs to the stinky sweaty Country Fair,
and all I could think of was Templeton the rat from Charlotte's Web.
Then I started to sing the song he sings in the cartoon version
over and over and over again while on the look out for rats scurrying around.
I didn't see any rats but I'm pretty sure a saw throw-up near the
garbage can. There was no amount of hand-sanitizer in my car that
could rub the County Fair smell off our hands.
A fair is a veritable Smorgasbord
Orgasbord,orgasbord
After the crowds have ceased
Each night when the lights go out
And candy found on the ground all around
Oh, what a ratly feast!
Will I find melon rinds
And pits of hot dogs
Cookie crumbs
And rotten cotton candy
Melted ice cream
Mustard driplings
Molten goodies everywhere? (Yes, yes!)
Lots of popcorn
Apple cores
Banana peels and
Soggy sandwiches and
Gorgeous goop to
Gobble at the fair? (Yes, yes, yes!)
A fair is a veritable Smorgasbord
Orgasbord,orgasbord
After the gates are shut
Each night when the lights go out
And candy found on the ground all around
That's where a rat can glut!
Glut!
Glut!
Glut!
Then I saw one of Jane's boy/friends and wanted to show her
so I pretended to take a photo of Lottie, and he was in the background.
I'm pretty much a sneaky ninja mom.
