Remember a few months back when I posted some questions I got
from people through my e-mail or social media?
Most of the time, when people send me messages,
they are SO kind and supportive, and I am so grateful.
But now and then, I get bizarre questions, random suggestions,
and some pretty mean critics.
Enjoy part two of "Questions Answered."
Question #1. "I know you really loved Provo (Utah),
and I still can't understand
why you moved. I know you really miss it there
and aren't truly happy in North Carolina. I can just tell."
Well, I am not sure how you can tell I am unhappy,
but you are not very good at reading people.
I love it here in North Carolina!
The Little Nies love it here in North Carolina!!
I still love Provo! I love Utah!!
I will always consider the Beehive state as home, and yes
I miss it, but sometimes we need wings to fly, and it
is our season to fly right now.
We are happy.
Call me crazy, but I can't tell if you care or
are just trying to be rude. But judging from your
profile, you are probably just a rude person.
Question #2. "Sometimes in your pictures, your chest area looks bigger
than in other photos."
Wow. I don't know where to begin.
I know having a plastic surgeon on speed dial seems like
a dead giveaway, but mainly I am calling him to ask him questions
about phantom pain, breathing issues, and now and then
I bug him to talk about politics, traveling,
and skin pain from the burns.
I need a new nose someday, but I am
sure you'll know when that happens.
But when it comes down to it, a good bra
(or lack of) is the culprit there.
Question #3. "Does Christian have a job?"
Yes, he does.
For the past 3 years, Christian has been developing a cattle app
that will change how cowboys and ranchers care for their cattle.
It's a fantastic tool being developed further here in the North Carolina
area since it is a tech start-up hub.
He has been researching at North Carolina State University
focusing on agriculture practices and studying ranching and land uses
here in this part of the United States.
Question #4. Why are you in North Carolina?
Because it is beautiful here.
There are good doctors and options for me
as we move into new phases of my burn care.
(This is the medical mecca, after all!!).
AND
also, because of question #3 (see above)
Question #5: It seems like you and Christian are always together.
Don't you get sick of each other?
Because Christian works from home and can pick his own
hours, and because he can work on the fly,
we get to spend a lot of time together. I love it.
There was a time in our marriage when Christian was in the
corporate world and in an office all day.
I was home with babies all day and loved when he would get home so
so we could share that responsibly together.
I realize that this is different than the traditional setting
that we are used to, and for some people, it really bothers them.
I don't know why, but it does.
And it's not like he follows me around the house all day,
or is looking over my shoulder at everything I do.
He is at his desk working, and I still do what I do and listen to
Annie Lennox is really loud even when I know he doesn't love
Annie Lennox.
The most important thing to me is that I can
be a homemaker, and so grateful our situation allows me to do just that.
Annnnnd, that's all I have time for today.
Darn.
