Still

Today, my nieces, Maggie, Lydia, and Loli, came over
to pick up Claire and Jane, and all five of them went to the craft store
where they picked up terra cotta pots
and cute little succulent plants.
Maggie just got her license!
While they painted the pots, they talked, listened to music
and ate chocolate chip cookies in the dining room.
With a cousin who can now legally drive, this has
just blown up to a whole new level for me.
I can't believe the girls are driving around town with friends??

Christian and I were lying in bed last night, reminiscing about our lives.
It's hard to believe that we're not as young as we used to be,
and our children are growing up so fast.
We're so grateful that Lottie still responds to "baby,"
Nicholas still loves playing with toy animals,
Ollie still enjoys it when I tickle his back before he falls asleep,
and Jane and Claire still love it when I read them storybooks.
Christian and I still skinny dip in the pool late at night.
I want to cherish this time of my life as much as possible
because it's wonderful, and I feel healthy and happy, and
I genuinely like who I am as a mother and a woman.
It's exciting and monotonous all at the same time.
And sometimes I think about having another baby....sometimes.
