Yesterday, the boys played with their cousins in the snow
while the girls and I made gingerbread.
Claire got very creative with her baking skills and made
a few gingerbread men and women holding hands;
she made one of me Christian and a few other couples
(which I can't say because she'd be furious at me), but they were darling.

My kitchen smelled delicious for hours as we
decorated and cooked all afternoon.
decorated and cooked all afternoon.
When the boys came home from playing later that evening, they were ecstatic
to learn that I had pirate and army men cookie cutters.
They joined in!
All week, the Little Nies and I will enjoy cozy activities
to celebrate our Christmas break and much-needed holiday.
I hope they'll remember our family time and the warm feelings in our home
because I know I will.
