Yesterday Jane turned twelve.
It was an all-day celebration!
Gigs delivered this breakfast of champions to her in his undies;
pancakes with strawberries, whipped cream, and a gold candle.
Later in the afternoon, Mr. Nielson and I checked her out of school
to go to the temple for her first time.
(You can read about what twelve-year-olds do in temples here).
Claire joined us, too, with her new camo cast!
Words could never express how I felt with my girls and
Christian in the temple. I am not even going to try to write it in this post.
It was so dear to my heart.
That part of Jane's birthday will be written in my personal journal
and remembered in my heart forever.
After the temple, we picked up the rest of the Little Nies and took them and
our newly twelve-year-old out to dinner.
The beauty of the day was matched only by the gratitude in my heart
for being her mom.
I am humbled and thank God for being the one raising her.
After dinner, we went home, and I presented a new personal journal
with letters and cards from all of her twenty aunts and two grandmas.
I hope she will treasure this gift for years to come.
The End.
