Were you wondering if Gerald, our toad, was still around?
Well, yes, the answer is yes.
In fact, most days, when Nicholas gets home from school,
he sets up our storybooks in a big circle to give him his exercise.
But he usually just sits in the same place for about two hours.
But at least he gets a change of scenery.
Yesterday morning, I was packing lunches before school,
and Mr. Nielson asked me what I had given Charlotte for breakfast.
I told him I hadn't given her anything yet.
Then he bent down and announced to the family Charlotte was
eating Gerald for breakfast.
Sure enough, Gerald was in her mouth.
I think I died for a minute.
Don't worry; no one was injured.
