Last month I contacted my dear friend Amy in Provo to see if she
could spare her daughter, Hannah for a few days.
I wanted to surprise Jane for her 15th birthday and
have Hannah visit us here on the ranch.
So last Friday evening we picked up Hannah at the Albuquerque airport,
and Jane and I were even able to greet her at the gate.
To see these best friends embrace was
just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.
(Remember this sad moment?)
It's been so fun to have Hannah here.
She brought with her from Provo so much happiness and love.
The girls have gone on 4-wheeler rides, hikes, and
they stay up late laughing and screaming.
Yesterday we took Hannah into the "big city"
to go grocery shopping with us and it was pretty memorable.
I am sure she will remember that moment for as long as she lives.
I made a 2-layer pink vanilla cake with malt frosting.
We skipped cutting the cake and instead pulled out forks and dug in.
Sometimes it tastes better that way.
I can't believe how old my girls are getting!

Teachings from RMN
Woman--Of Infinite Worth, October 1989
"A woman is a master communicator. And she communicates best in humble prayer.
How many of us first learned to pray beside the bended knees of our mothers?
Surely she knows that her children can walk alone only
when they have found their pathway to Father in Heaven through prayer.
Certainly, a woman is a teacher. Someone said,
“When you teach a boy, you teach an individual,
but when you teach a girl, you teach a whole generation."
but when you teach a girl, you teach a whole generation."
